Supply Chain Specialist
SUMMARY:
The Supply Chain Specialist supports day-to-day purchasing, inventory planning, and production scheduling activities to ensure on-time availability of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods across multiple distribution centers. This role is responsible for maintaining purchasing standards, executing raw material orders, verifying compliance with established SOPs, and supporting ERP data accuracy. The position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Execute raw material purchase orders in alignment with company SOPs and purchasing standards.
- Verify order accuracy, pricing, units of measure, lead times, and delivery compliance.
- Maintain ERP item master data and ensure accurate system updates (Fourth Shift).
- Track and communicate raw material delivery updates; resolve discrepancies.
- Support continuous improvement of purchasing processes and tools.
- Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels daily.
- Support the planning team in aligning production needs with material availability.
- Run inventory planning tools and Excel models to support replenishment decisions.
- Coordinate with Receiving and Production to maintain accurate inventory transactions.
- Assist with cycle counts reconciliation, and root-cause verification.
- Support WIP movement tracking and RM/FG alignment across multiple DCs.
- Provide backup coverage to production schedulers on an as-needed basis. Assist in building, adjusting, and communicating production schedules.
- Schedule receiving appointments and track incoming shipments.
- Coordinate RM and supply deliveries and communicate updates internally.
- Ensure defective inventory is returned to suppliers and credit is issued.
- Support plant supply inventory (office, safety, facility).
- Maintain neat and organized supply chain operational areas.
- Prepare and maintain reports supporting supply chain KPIs.
- Use Excel tools and planning models to support daily/weekly operations.
- Support month-end inventory processes.
- Ensure adherence to company safety guidelines and supply chain procedures.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams at all levels.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- 0–3 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, planning, or manufacturing.
- ERP experience (Fourth Shift preferred) or ability to learn quickly.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with numbers and reports.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills across different departments.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to follow established SOPs and verify compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required).
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk, bend, stand, and move throughout the facility.
- Visual acuity and ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Standard schedule Monday–Friday; additional hours may be required.
