Acts is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Hospice Volunteer Coordinator position.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Recruits, orients, supervises and retains volunteers.
- Responsible to ensure and document that active volunteer hours provided within hospice, at a minimum, equal five percent (5%) of total participant hours of all paid hospice staff’s direct care hours. Assures that volunteers are documenting their visits.
- Responsible to screen(criminal background check and references) all volunteers before service is provided.
- Maintains personnel records for volunteers, including evaluations, competencies, and summary of service record.
- Responsible for making sure that bereavement assessments and plan of care are completed.
- Attends IDT meetings.
- Provides grief support to bereaved, volunteers, community staff/residents and hospice staff.
- Organizes annual Memorial Service.
- Shares on call responsibility.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- College education and demonstrated experience in a social work, volunteer recruitment, or prior work/training in bereavement, loss, or grief
