Position Summary

The Master Teacher serves as an instructional leader for our Three- and Four-Year-Old classrooms, partnering with the Program Director to ensure high-quality teaching, consistent classroom practices, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

This position combines classroom teaching with coaching and mentoring responsibilities. The Master Teacher models best practices, supports Lead and Assistant Teachers, helps implement curriculum, and provides a calm, encouraging presence throughout the program.

This position also serves as the program's primary closing supervisor. During afternoon and evening hours, the Master Teacher may serve as the senior staff member on site, providing leadership, supporting staff, responding to parent needs, and ensuring the safe and orderly operation of the program until closing.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Program Director to develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Serve as a classroom teacher while modeling excellence in early childhood education.
  • Coach, mentor, and support Lead and Assistant Teachers.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
  • Maintain compliance with Oklahoma DHS licensing standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in classrooms as program needs require.
  • Serve as the designated closing supervisor, ensuring classrooms remain appropriately staffed, licensing requirements are maintained, and the facility closes safely and efficiently.
  • Provide leadership and operational decision-making when the Program Director and Assistant Director are not on site.
  • Support teachers in resolving classroom challenges and parent concerns while maintaining a calm, professional presence.

Qualifications

Required

  • Oklahoma DHS Master Teacher certification (or eligibility), including completion of at least the Certificate of Mastery.
  • Experience leading an early childhood classroom.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor and encourage other teachers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff and make sound decisions while serving as the senior staff member on site.

Preferred

  • Administrative or supervisory experience in an early childhood setting.
  • Experience serving as a lead teacher, closing supervisor, or acting administrator in an early childhood program.
  • Experience coaching or training educators.

Monday-Friday
Typical hours: 9:00 a.m.-5:45 p.m. (schedule may vary based on program needs)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
