PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Serve as a case manager in supporting and monitoring specialized intervention experiences through high-quality instruction for at-risk students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Education/Certification:
Valid Texas Teacher’s Certificate
Administrative Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of Texas Essential Skills and Knowledge (TEKS)
Knowledge of the interpretation of test scores and data
Knowledge of effective teaching practices for EB students and At-Risk students
Excellent organizational, communication, and culturally sensitive skills
Experience with all student committees of knowledgeable persons
Experience:
Three to five years of education experience
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Practices
1. Acts as a case manager for McKinney-Vento, Section 504, and At-Risk students.
2. Works with teachers to ensure that individual accommodations and modifications are met for Section 504 and Emerging Bilingual students in the school setting.
3. Uses student data from various sources to develop and implement effective programs for Emerging Bilingual, At-Risk, and McKinney-Vento students, tailored to individual needs and created collaboratively with a team of knowledgeable professionals.
4. Develops accommodations with teams for students that address learning goals.
5. Monitors student performance data throughout the year and provides feedback to teachers, Instructional specialists, and principal.
6. Works with teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, and students (as appropriate) to determine supports and accommodations needed to support academic growth.
7. In collaboration with teachers and committees of knowledgeable persons, generates and monitors required documentation and paperwork for students being served via Section 504, LPAC, MTSS, and ARD meetings as determined by campus principal.
8. Meet regularly with classroom teachers and identified students to evaluate student progress on specific and individual goals.
Student Growth and Development
9. Maintain accurate records to demonstrate student growth through Branching Minds.
10. Participates in and implements professional development activities to improve professional competence and student success on Section 504, Emerging Bilingual, and MTSS.
11. Serve as a positive role model for students by demonstrating behaviors and attitudes that align with and support the school district’s mission.
12. In collaboration with teachers and administrators, coordinates the campus Child Find program.
13. Coordinate the general education / Section 504 homebound process.
School / Organization Climate
14. Promote regular attendance with students and families by contacting home as needed.
15. Coordinates with school counselors to connect students and families to available services inside and outside the school.
16. Demonstrates skill in conflict resolution with administrators, teachers, staff, and/or students and families.
School / Organizational Improvement
17. Monitors school improvement or program activities by reviewing permanent files and identifying subpopulations and special needs to ensure students are receiving the correct services.
18. Monitors classroom improvement or program activities to ensure the implementation of EB, EB, and At-Risk programs for specific student needs.
19. Coordinates and monitors standardized testing programs (TELPAS, STAAR, etc.) and appropriately uses student achievement data in interpreting and formulating result reports to drive instruction.
Communication
20. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, their parents, and classroom teachers, staff, and leadership.
21. Maintains a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
22. Use good communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Policy Implementation
23. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
24. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Evaluation
25. Assess teachers on T-TESS walk-throughs as assigned.
Other
26. Perform other related duties as assigned.
