English Language Education Teacher - Long Term Sub

Acton-Boxborough Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and qualified English Learner (EL) Teacher (Long Term Sub starting May 7th until end of school year with possibility to contiue starting next school year until Oct 5th) to provide direct instruction to elementary English Learners. The teacher will play a vital role in supporting language development and academic success, ensuring continuity of services during the absence of the regular EL teacher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for working with diverse learners and an ability to deliver targeted language instruction aligned with students' needs.Key Responsibilities: Provide direct instruction in English language development to elementary English Learners, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.Design and deliver lessons that align with district standards and WIDA English Language Development (ELD) standards.Work with classroom teachers to integrate EL students' language goals into general education settings.Use language acquisition strategies and instructional tools to meet the diverse needs of EL students.Monitor and document student progress in language proficiency and academic achievement.Maintain open communication with families, providing updates on student progress and available resources.Participate in meetings and collaborate with colleagues to ensure students language and academic needs are met.
