Job Description
Position: Intern with a possibility of continuing as a Scientist (MS in Molecular Biology or similar)
Location: Natick, MA
Pre-Req: Freshly finished this or previous year MS degree from a Massachusetts school or the candidate has to be a resident of Massachusetts.
Company Overview: ActivSignal is a dynamic startup, based in Natick, MA, dedicated to advancing the field of biotechnology through its proprietary technology for multiplex protein detection (MPAD). We are at the forefront of developing innovative diagnostics for early cancer detection and applying our MPAD technology across various other applications.
The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated intern for a bench science role, that will transition into an R&D Scientist role. Preferred expertise in immunoassays (e.g. ELISA, Luminex, etc.); DNA detection techniques, including PCR, qPCR, and NGS; automation. The ideal candidate will be a strong bench scientist, good communicator, well-organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced collaborative team environment. Moderate computer skills are necessary for this position (coding is not needed). This role offers the unique opportunity to push the boundaries of scientific research and make significant contributions to the development of life-saving diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory experiments using our MPAD technology platform and adjacent experiments.
- Maintain a detailed record of laboratory experiments and assist lab manager in lab management tasks.
- Perform routine laboratory maintenance and ensure smooth operations.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Wet lab experience is a must
- Proficiency in immuno-based protein detection assays, NGS/qPCR/PCR assays, multiplex protein detection assays.
- Experience working in a 96-well plate format and use of multichannel pipetting.
- Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Google Sheets.
- Lab management
- Experience/knowledge in automation, fluid handling robotics.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.

- Communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work effectively within a team and quickly adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
