Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Track and Field Coach role based in Madison, WI. The Track and Field Coach will plan and lead age-appropriate practices that build fundamental running, jumping, and throwing skills while emphasizing safety, inclusivity, and fun for beginner athletes. The group, which is a part of the summer camp at Allied Drive Community Center, will meet at Marlborough Park on Madison’s south side tuesdays and thursdays 10:00 am - 11:30 am.
Qualifications
- Experience in track and field or related sports, including knowledge of basic techniques for running, jumping, and throwing.
- Background in coaching, teaching, or leading youth programs, with a commitment to positive youth development and inclusive practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, volunteers, and staff.
- Ability to create structured, engaging practice plans and manage groups of youth in a safe and supportive manner.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion, ensuring all participants feel welcome and encouraged regardless of background or ability.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized, with the ability to work part-time, on-site hours in Madison, WI.
- Must meet organizational requirements for working with youth, which may include background checks in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
