Who We Work With:
Special Populations: Active For Life provides onsite fitness, dance, and wellness programs for special populations, such as the elderly, those in wheelchairs, with special needs or neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer’s and dementia), in skilled nursing, memory care, assisted living and independent living facilities. Our programs are developed to exercise brain and body through fitness, music, singing and/or dance.
The Ideal Candidate:
The Active For Life Fitness Instructor is an energetic, responsible, punctual, compassionate and hard working professional who has a passion to connect with and improve the lives of the individuals they work with.
Main Areas of Focus:
- Proper execution of the Active For Life fitness programs, such as TAP TIME™ and SEATED RHYTHM™ (we will train you in our programs)
- Ability to connect with residents
- Must have emotional stamina and compassion for working with not only the geriatric population, but individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
Specific Responsibilities
- Learn and memorize the Active For Life fitness programs; particularly SEATED RHYTHM™ and TAP TIME™
- Cue and teach the content in energetic, rhythmic and engaging way
- Represent the company and brand with utmost professionalism
- Build rapport with the residents and facility staff
Requirements:
- Has 1-3 years experience working in fitness and/or dance
- Passionate about working with this population
- Nationally recognized fitness certification
- CPR/AED Certification
- College degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or related field is a plus but not required.
