We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems within our facilities. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned work orders for routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient
- manner.
- Assist with setting up and taking down rooms and spaces for events.
- Ensure event spaces are arranged according to
specified requirements records of maintenance activities, inspections, and code compliance standards.
- Help maintain compliance with life safety codes and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Assist with keeping
- Perform regular deep cleaning of kitchen areas.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety
- Regularly restock soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other restroom supplies
- Clear sidewalks and entranceways of snow and ice to ensure safety.
- Apply ice melt or sand when necessary for added safety.
- Maintain the facility’s exterior landscaping, including mowing, trimming, and weed control.
- Care for shrubs and plants to ensure a neat and welcoming exterior.
- Keep windows clean and free from debris.
- Ensure the front entrance and doors are clean, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and well-kept facility.
- Address cosmetic or structural issues as needed.
- Perform other maintenance tasks as required by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in building maintenance or facilities support is preferred.
- Basic understanding of maintenance tasks and safety procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects for event setup or repairs.
- Willingness to learn life safety codes and comply with regulatory standards.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting of heavier items.
- Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools and operate maintenance equipment.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.
- Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, and access tight or confined spaces.
- Requires visual acuity for reading instructions, operating equipment, and inspecting maintenance tasks.
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other environmental factors. Ability to read, write, apply math, think critically, and manage multiple tasks.
Work Enviornment
- Indoor and outdoor work in various facility areas, including offices, kitchens, restrooms, and event spaces.
- Exposure to loud noises from equipment, HVAC systems, or power tools.
- May work in high-traffic areas with frequent interactions with staff, members, and guests.
- Occasional work during early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed for events or urgent maintenance.
- Requires adaptability to shifting priorities based on facility needs, safety concerns, or weather conditions.
