Job Summary
Plans, organizes and monitors the receiving and shipping of all refrigerated materials and products. Manages paperwork flow and computer entries of all shipments inbound and outbound. Responsible for loading/unloading of inbound and outbound shipments and staging of those shipments. Operation of Fork Lift will be required. Previous shipping/receiving experience is preferable. This position requires working in a cold environment of 35 degrees. Starting pay is based on experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items that are 50 lbs.
- Stretch wrap and tape pallets.
- Unpacks, examines incoming shipments, and records shortages.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Reports defective materials and equipment or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition with first in first out and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Required to move trailers in and out for loading purposes and deliveries.
- Works hand in hand with drivers and mechanic when needed.
