Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of commercial vehicles to transport freight, hazardous materials, and specialized cargo across diverse routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in truck driving, route planning, and cargo handling will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other commercial vehicles in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Plan and execute delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize efficiency and ensure on-time arrivals.
- Load and unload freight, including logistics cargo handling for various types of cargo such as hazardous materials, dangerous goods, or specialty items like refrigerated trailers.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with all safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, and shipment documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all safety procedures related to hazardous materials regulations and manual handling practices during loading/unloading operations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or related roles involving tractor-trailer or flatbed operations.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, or other specialized loads.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or tanker trucks is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools for efficient route execution.
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Familiarity with truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling techniques.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission trucks is a plus.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight and perform vehicle inspections regularly; comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
