Active Aging, Inc., the Area Agency on Aging serving Crawford County, is seeking an experienced and highly organized professional to lead its Older Adult Protective Services program. This is a full-time, salaried position located on-site in Meadville, Pennsylvania. The Protective Services Supervisor oversees the receipt, categorization, assignment, investigation, service planning, documentation, quality assurance, and closure of Reports of Need involving older adults who may be at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Receive and review Reports of Need involving older adults who may require protective services.

· Categorize Reports of Need and assign investigations to Protective Services workers in accordance with the Older Adults Protective Services Act (OAPSA), applicable regulations, and agency procedures.

· Follow up to ensure investigations begin within required OAPSA timeframes.

· Provide supervision and consultation to ensure workers complete thorough, objective, and timely investigations.

· Conduct ongoing case review to ensure investigations are completed within the applicable 20-day timeframe and that identified risk has been reduced or eliminated, when appropriate and possible.

· Review case documentation weekly for timeliness, completeness, professionalism, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

· Complete quality-assurance review at case closure to verify that the investigation was thorough, all required elements are documented, the determination is supported, identified risks were appropriately addressed, and closure requirements are met.

· Collaborate with Protective Services workers to develop care plans designed to reduce or eliminate identified risk.

· Ensure case documentation is completed promptly and meets agency, state, and regulatory standards.

· Provide coaching, guidance, performance feedback, and day-to-day supervision to Protective Services staff.

· Assist in developing and conducting staff training, community education, and professional presentations.

· Assist in developing legal petitions in cases that require emergency intervention.

· Collaborate with medical and legal consultants, subcontractors, service providers, law enforcement, and other community partners.

· Participate in Protective Services supervisory webinars, annual Protective Services training, and regional and statewide meetings.

· Maintain proficiency in OAPSA law, regulations, policies, investigative requirements, documentation standards, and agency procedures.

· Perform other duties related to the administration and supervision of the Protective Services program.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

Applicants must meet the following:

· Three years of experience in public or private social work and a bachelor’s degree; OR

· An equivalent combination of experience and training, including successful completion of at least 12 semester hours of college-level coursework in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or another related social science. AND

· Previous supervisory experience is required.

Additional Requirements

· Must be a resident of Pennsylvania.

· Must be able to work on-site in Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, for 37.5 hours per week.

· Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

· Must participate in required Protective Services on-call coverage.

· Must successfully pass a criminal background check and a post-offer physical examination and drug screening.

· Must demonstrate technical competency with computers, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word, and the ability to learn required case-management and documentation software.

· Must communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively in verbal and written communications.

· Must demonstrate strong organizational, supervisory, analytical, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills.

· Must be proficient, or able to quickly become proficient, in all aspects of OAPSA law, regulations, policies, investigative requirements, and documentation standards.

· Must be able to manage multiple investigations, deadlines, staff needs, and urgent or high-risk situations while maintaining confidentiality.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary: $65,000 to 70,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

· Paid sick leave, vacation leave, and personal days.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position based in Meadville, Pennsylvania. The regular work schedule is 37.5 hours per week in the office. Protective Services on-call is required and will include evening, weekend, holiday, or other after-hours availability.
