Company Overview:

At Activate, we are renowned for crafting extraordinary experiences that make a lasting impact for some of the world's most influential brands. Our expertise spans the production of kits, mobile tours, and standout live events, enhancing brand visibility and strengthening customer loyalty. As a WBENC-certified company, we take pride in fostering an inclusive work environment that emphasizes growth, offers competitive benefits, and champions collaboration.

Position Summary:

The Technology Associate is a hands-on member of Activate’s Technology team, supporting the day-to-day technology needs of our employees as well as the technology that powers our live events and experiential programs.

This role will serve as a first line of support for internal IT needs while also preparing, deploying, and troubleshooting technology such as displays, tablets, projectors, photo experiences, and event applications. The Technology Associate will travel to events throughout the country to provide on-site technical support and will work alongside the Technology Manager on development, backend systems, and other custom technology solutions for our clients.

We’re looking for someone who is technically curious, resourceful, and excited by a role where no two days (or event sites) are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

IT & Help Desk Support

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee technology questions and support requests.
  • Troubleshoot common hardware, software, account, connectivity, and access issues, escalating more complex issues when appropriate.
  • Support employee computer setup, equipment deployment, account provisioning, and ongoing hardware needs.
  • Assist with new-hire technology onboarding, including laptops, user accounts, software access, and equipment handoff.
  • Maintain organized records of company technology assets, software licenses, subscriptions, and renewals.

Event Technology & On-Site Support

  • Travel to events and activations throughout the United States to support technology setup, testing, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with the deployment of technology such as TVs and displays, iPads and tablets, projectors, photo experiences, event applications, networking equipment, and other interactive technology.
  • Conduct pre-event testing and preparation to ensure technology assets are event-ready.
  • Troubleshoot technology issues in real time while working alongside Activate production teams, vendors, clients, and venue personnel.
  • Assist with the organization, maintenance, preparation, and tracking of event technology assets.

Systems, Security & Technology Administration

  • Help administer company technology and cybersecurity programs, including employee security-awareness training and completion tracking.
  • Monitor and respond to security alerts and system notifications, escalating concerns as appropriate.
  • Support company data-security practices, including proper handling and removal of client or personally identifiable information following events.
  • Help maintain company domains, technology services, subscriptions, and other recurring technology infrastructure.

Software, Development & Event Applications

  • Support the Technology Manager with the development, configuration, testing, and maintenance of technology solutions used for client events.
  • Assist with low-code/no-code platforms, backend workflows, databases, integrations, and event applications.
  • Coordinate technology requests and maintain organized task lists for ongoing development projects.
  • Communicate with external technology vendors and partners to track open items and help move projects forward.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, technology operations, or a related role preferred.
  • Strong general understanding of computers, hardware, software, user accounts, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable learning unfamiliar technology and independently researching solutions.
  • Interest in software development, automation, low-code/no-code platforms, APIs, databases, or application configuration.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple open requests and priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when explaining technology to non-technical users.
  • Detail-oriented approach to documentation, security, data management, and technology setup.
  • Comfortable communicating with employees, clients, vendors, and external technology partners.
  • Ability to remain calm and resourceful when troubleshooting technology under time-sensitive event conditions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the United States, including occasional nights and weekends based on event schedules.
