POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for picking/packaging/shipping products manually while performing any combination of the following duties: inspecting incoming orders for damage and accuracy, performing regular cycle counts of inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse. This position may also serve as the back-up for the quality and production areas when needed.

The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The employee may be required to work with hazardous materials. The employee may be exposed to hot surfaces, hot air, electrical hazards, and flames. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works with moving machinery and occasionally in outside weather.

Principal Accountabilities
- Pick, inspect, pack, weigh and prepare shipping documents to ship all orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery to customers.
- Cut stock products to specified sizes on pick tickets.
- Label or re-label products, as necessary.
- Enter parcel shipment details into UPS/FedEx software.
- Prepare export documents for occasional UPS/FedEx/DHL international shipments.
- Collaborate with our 3rd party logistics company to select appropriate carrier and prepare bill of lading for LTL shipments.
- Post shipments in our ERP system.
- Affix packing slip, material certification(s), and other necessary labels on to the packages.
- Greet and hand packages to carriers or load skids onto trucks.
- Contact carriers and investigate late pick-ups or shipment delays.
- Record all tracking numbers and pro numbers in our ERP system.
- File claims with carriers for lost or damaged shipments.
- Inspect incoming deliveries for any damage or missing items; immediately report issues with the delivery driver and supervisor. Take pictures to document the damage and/or missing items.
- Count/weigh incoming orders for accurate receiving.
- Put away goods in a timely and organized manner.
- Conduct regular cycle counts of raw material and finished goods inventory.
- Count selected inventory items during annual year-end inventory audit with 3rd party auditing firm.
- Verify counts on inspected products to ensure accurate receiving into our ERP system.
- Problem-solve to address all inventory discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve all inventory issues.
- Rotate raw material and finished goods inventory utilizing first-in, first-out (FIFO) method.
- Consolidate and organize inventory daily.
- Monitor shipping supply usage and make purchase requisitions to maintain adequate stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, optimizing storage space and layout.
- Perform and maintain weekly forklift safety inspection checklist.
- Coordinate with our forklift vendor who performs the annual preventative maintenance.
- Ensure the safe operation of equipment.
- Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.
- Adhere to all company standards and policies.
- Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.
- Report immediately to the supervisor or general manager all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling, and/or quality.
- Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to:
- Inspection, if needed: Learn to perform quality assurance inspection of extruded and compression-molded products.
- Production, if needed: Learn to operate extruders, centerless grinders, and/or compression-molding equipment. Assist shop personnel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to read a caliper and tape measure.
- Ability to operate machines includes, but not limited to, bar code reader, computer terminal, other electronic devices, and forklift.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and the capacity to learn new systems, including our ERP system.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Tenacity in overcoming obstacles while maintaining productive and positive working relationships.
- Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast-paced environment that requires strong teamwork.
- Understanding of all tools, gauges, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position.
- Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse, logistics or inventory experience in a production environment.
- Experience in using pallet jacks and forklifts is desired but not required (will provide training).
- Experience in a plastics manufacturing setting is desired but not required.
