Production Operator

POSITION PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for operating various plastic manufacturing equipment within an assigned area as directed.  The Production Operator accurately and efficiently completes production orders to established procedures and quality standards. 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 Operate equipment to ensure the highest quality of production is achieved.

 Review daily manufacturing functions and job orders to ensure awareness of requirements.  

 Obtain necessary materials and tools required to achieve expected run rates.

 Draft and maintain procedure sheets.

 Check all parts for excellent quality.

 Maintain accurate counts.

 Ensure the safe operation of equipment.

 Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

 Report immediately to your production mentor and general manager any and all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling and/or quality.

 Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.

 Ensure a clean and organized work environment.

 Adhere to all company standards and policies.

 Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.

 Other duties as assigned.

 Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast paced environment that requires strong teamwork.

 Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position.

 Basic ability to understand blueprints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.

 Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.

 Previous experience in a relevant manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the building.  The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.  The employee must have manual dexterity.  The employee is required to stand, and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch.

The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and use equipment to move up to 110 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee may be required to work with hazardous materials.  The employee may be exposed to hot surfaces, hot air, electrical hazards, and flames.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works with moving machinery.  All work is performed inside in a climate-controlled environment.

Starting hourly pay range: $20.00 - $24.00
