An international machine tool supplier is searching for a Field Service Technician based out of Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting and repairing machine tools (metal-cutting and metal-forming), with a solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
This role is full-time and direct hire with benefits (health/vision/dental insurances, paid holidays, PTO, 401k with company matching, company profit-sharing), and requires up to 90% domestic travel Monday through Friday, along with occasional international travel.
Compensation ranges from $29 - 33/hr depending on experience, with guaranteed pay at 40 hours per week. Additional per diems are provided for overnight stays, as well as mileage reimbursement. Some overtime may be required depending on projects. This position requires use of your own vehicle and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer locations to identify any mechanical problems with industrial machinery and perform on-site repairs as needed (including turret realignment, bearing and ball screw replacement, and hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting)
- Offer troubleshooting and technical support for machine tool equipment and CNC machinery
- Read mechanical drawings and blueprints to resolve issues and complete repairs
- Document and report any issues
- Cross-train on mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance, including attending seminars and conferences for professional development
- Provide top customer service and training to clients/customers
Qualifications:
- 2-year technical degree or technical / military training in mechanical engineering or electronics. Relevant experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of four years of maintenance or related experience required (industrial machinery diagnosis and repair, manufacturing maintenance)
- Able to use dial indicators, micrometers, voltmeters, calipers and other kinds of measurement equipment
- Should be located in proximity to an airport (within an hour commute)
- Able to travel nationwide up to 90% of the time for projects, including some overnights, Monday-Friday
- Mechanical aptitude and proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment—electronics training is a plus
- Familiarity with CNC (preferably Fanuc) and/or metal cutting, metal forming, and machine tool equipment
