Inventory Control Specialist — (with Service Titan focus)

Position Summary:
An Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for supporting and optimizing inventory operations for a service-oriented company by maintaining accurate stock levels, managing warehouses and truck stock, and using Service Titan as the primary system to track, audit, and report inventory data.

Core Responsibilities
Inventory Tracking & Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for warehouse and service vehicles in ServiceTitan.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, audits, and physical inventory counts to ensure system accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and trigger reorder processes before shortages occur.
  • Investigate, reconcile, and resolve inventory discrepancies using data from ServiceTitan.
Warehouse & Logistics
  • Organize warehouse parts and products for efficient picking and distribution.
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming inventory shipments.
  • Allocate and distribute inventory to technicians’ trucks or job staging areas.
Purchasing & Vendor Support
  • Create and manage purchase orders through ServiceTitan or integrated systems, ensuring materials are ordered on time.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding deliveries, backorders, pricing, and discrepancies.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Generate inventory reports (stock levels, usage trends, shrinkage, aging) from ServiceTitan for management.
  • Provide insights to support forecasting and continuous process improvement.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work with field technicians, warehouse staff, operations, and purchasing teams to ensure parts availability for jobs.
  • Assist in training technicians or office staff on inventory best practices within ServiceTitan.
Typical Tools & Systems
  • ServiceTitan inventory feature (tracking, counts, PO creation, transfers, reports)
  • Standard office systems (Microsoft Excel, Outlook
Skills & Qualifications
✔ High school diploma or equivalent (some employers prefer additional education)
✔ Experience with inventory control, warehouse/logistics, or related operations (often 1–3 years)
✔ Proficiency with ServiceTitan or willingness to learn its inventory module
✔ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
✔ Ability to analyze data, run reports, and make informed decisions
✔ Good communication and teamwork skills
✔ Forklift certification or ability to lift inventory items
