Job Overview:
We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate Adult or Family Nurse Practitioners to join our team in correctional healthcare settings across Colorado. This is a unique opportunity to provide meaningful care to underserved populations while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and create personalized care plans
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
- Conduct physical exams and perform minor procedures (e.g., injections, spinal taps)
- Prescribe medications and manage treatment regimens
- Educate patients on disease prevention, wellness, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to ensure integrated care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records
- Apply case management strategies to support continuity of care
- Stay informed on current clinical guidelines and evidence-based practices
Qualifications:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Colorado
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
- Minimum 2 years of NP experience (correctional or hospital setting preferred)
- Colorado DEA license with prescriptive authority
- Strong knowledge of clinical coding, billing, and ICD-10 standards
- Proficient in patient assessment, diagnosis, and care planning
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment
