We are looking for a dynamic Vice President of Operations to lead distribution operations and drive excellence across warehousing, transportation, and logistics for a food distributor in Cairo, GA.
This executive will play a critical role in ensuring every order delivered meets the highest standards of accuracy, timeliness, and service — while optimizing efficiency, safety, and profitability.
What You Will Do:
- Oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations, including warehouse, transportation, fleet, and inventory. Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of operations leaders, including warehouse, transportation, and safety managers.
- Develop and execute strategies that improve service levels, productivity, and cost efficiency. Maintain best-in-class practices for cold chain management and product integrity.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, Procurement, and HR to align operational performance with company growth goals.
- Champion a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee compliance with food safety, OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory standards.
- Manage operational budgets, drive performance metrics, and ensure customer satisfaction remains a top priority.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- 8 years of progressive operations leadership experience in foodservice distribution or a related field required, ideally within a broadline distributor
- Proven success managing large-scale, multi-temperature warehouse operations with full P&L responsibility.
- Strong background in warehouse and transportation management systems (WMS/TMS) and process improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Salary starts at $145,000/year, commensurate with experience
