Action Seating & Mobility is seeking a mechanically inclined Mobility Equipment Technician to assemble, configure, troubleshoot, and prepare custom wheelchairs and rehabilitation equipment that help individuals regain independence and mobility.
This position is primarily warehouse-based and focuses on equipment assembly, customization, quality control, inventory support, and delivery readiness. No prior wheelchair experience is required. We provide training and manufacturer certification opportunities for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude.

- Assemble and configure manual and power wheelchairs
- Install seating, positioning, and mobility components according to specifications
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues during equipment builds
- Perform quality inspections to ensure equipment is complete and functioning properly
- Verify equipment configurations match order requirements
- Stage completed equipment for ATP review and patient delivery
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding equipment builds and modifications
- Assist with equipment repairs and adjustments as needed
- Receive and inspect incoming equipment and components
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory accuracy initiatives
- Track and report missing or damaged components
- Support equipment staging and workflow readiness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift and move equipment safely
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Experience in one or more of the following:
- Mechanical assembly
- Automotive repair
- Diesel repair
- Industrial maintenance
- HVAC service
- Equipment repair
- Manufacturing or production assembly
- Biomedical equipment repair
- Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
Wheelchair experience is a plus but not required.
Successful Candidates Typically Demonstrate
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Frequently lift up to 65 pounds
- Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Stand and walk throughout the workday
- Perform assembly and equipment configuration activities
