Position Summary
Our large, multi-line powersports dealership client is seeking a high-energy Parts Director with deep fixed operations experience and strong analytical skills, as well as a proven ability to drive revenue across both Parts and Service departments. This role supports the dealership in day-to-day operations while taking full ownership of data analysis, inventory performance, OBS (obsolete) management, inventory turns, and sales growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operations of the Parts Department, including retail and service counter workflow, inventory control, and staff support.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key metrics including inventory turns, gross profit, obsolete inventory percentages, special orders, and fill rates.
- Lead OBS reduction strategies, aging inventory reviews, vendor returns, and phase-in/phase-out processes.
- Identify sales opportunities using data insights, demand trends, and product movement to drive revenue in Parts and Service.
- Partner closely with the Service Department to maintain efficient parts flow, reduce delays, and increase parts-to-service profitability.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, cycle counts, and reconciliation to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Train and coach parts counter employees on product knowledge, upselling techniques, customer engagement, and process consistency.
- Support merchandising efforts on the showroom floor to increase accessory sales and customer engagement.
- Help maintain vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and manage special-order workflow.
- Contribute to achieving departmental goals related to revenue, gross profit, inventory performance, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- 3 or more years of powersports, marine, motorcycle, automotive (or similar) parts department experience; management or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong data literacy with proven experience analyzing KPIs, inventory turns, and sales reports.
- Hands-on experience with DMS systems (Lightspeed EVO), OEM parts portals, inventory tools, and standard dealership software.
- Thorough understanding of powersports products, OEM parts, aftermarket brands, and service operations.
- High-energy, team-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a large dealership environment.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills, with the ability to work cross-departmentally.
- Ability to work weekends or peak seasonal schedules as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a retail/warehouse environment.
Compensation
Competitive base salary, commission opportunities tied to gross profit, and performance bonuses aligned with inventory and revenue goals. The right candidate will have the opportunity to earn north of six figures, plus a full benefits package, including relocation assistance, which is being offered.
Salary : $95,000 - $125,000
