Action Kids Summer Day Camp is looking for an organized and creative Program Leader to deliver an arts and crafts program that is safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers' age and abilities. Applicant must be enthusiastic, passionate about their craft, enjoy working with children and ready for an amazing fun summer
Essential Job Functions:
Develop and deliver a fun and creative arts and crafts program that incorporates weekly themes and is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers
Design and deliver arts and crafts activities that make use of different art mediums, make use of the camp's natural environment, and use the art resources most efficiently.
Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in the arts and crafts program area
Maintain the arts and crafts equipment, including brushes, paint etc.
Ensure the security of the arts and crafts equipment and supplies, including maintaining inventory, planning and shopping for replacement of supplies in a timely manner.
Conduct a daily check of the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
Clean arts and crafts area daily, keeping it free of hazards and debris.
Other Job Duties:
Participate as a member of the camp leadership staff to deliver and supervise special events and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, assisting group counselors as assigned.
Assist in the planning of any special events especially in the areas of decorations and costumes.
Qualifications, Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Passion for sharing art and creativity
Previous training/experience in teaching arts and crafts to children.
Ability to interact with all age levels
Desire and ability to work with children indoors/outdoors and in varied conditions.
Experience in designing and making decorations for special events a plus.
Current certification in first aid and CPR (training provided)
Must clear background check
