Overview
We need a hands-on, detail-oriented Assembly Technician to support light assembly of precision aerospace components. This role is not production-line repetitive work—it requires consistency, careful handling, and the ability to follow work instructions in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install helicoils, inserts, and pins using press fixtures, hand tools, or pneumatic tools.
- Apply torqued fasteners to spec using calibrated torque wrenches.
- Perform adhesive/epoxy application and bonding with proper prep, mixing, and cure handling.
- Light sub-assembly build-up from machined parts (threading, staking, minor fit checks).
- Follow detailed assembly work instructions, travelers, and inspection steps.
- Maintain accuracy and traceability on job travelers and ERP entries.
- Work alongside machinists, inspectors, and engineers to ensure first-pass quality.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with mechanical assembly (aerospace, automotive, defense, or industrial preferred).
- Comfortable with hand tools, torque tools, presses, and precision measurement (calipers, micrometers, thread gages).
- Basic understanding of assembly drawings and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to work to tight tolerances and document work clearly.
- Nice-to-have: experience in AS9100/ISO-regulated environment, knowledge of adhesives/epoxies, prior aerospace or defense work.
