  • IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:** AREA I AGENCY ON AGING DIRECTOR

**SUPERVISION EXERCISED:** Directly supervise 40-50 Senior Companion Volunteers **in Yellowstone County**

  • LENGTH OF POSITION:** Dependent upon continued program funding.
  • SALARY RANGE:** DOE; Full Time; 40 hours per week

General Statement Of Duties

The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed in this position. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.

The Senior Companion Program Coordinator implements the daily operations for the Senior Companion Program. This position assists in developing and implementing plans and goals for the program and ensures compliance with grant regulations and internal policies. The Program Coordination is responsible for the daily oversight of volunteer activities and is actively involved in the recruitment and retention of volunteers and volunteer stations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year of experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities preferred; a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered.
  • Ability to pass a Montana State criminal history check, fingerprint- based FBI check, and a search of the National Sex Offender Website before beginning orientation.
  • Experience in record keeping and basic bookkeeping preferred.
  • Knowledge of public and private community resources, including State and Federal agencies, and the ability to connect individuals to appropriate services.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work effectively with older adults, family members, and other service providers.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage monthly and quarterly schedules and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Special Requirements

In this position there is a willingness to travel, including on rural two-lane roads and during winter conditions. Work may be performed in clients' homes, service provider offices, and standard office settings. The role involves occasional lifting of items such as computers, boxes, and bags weighing between 5 to 25 pounds. Extended periods of sitting (up to seven hours per eight-hour workday) may be required for office and computer tasks. The employee must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and possess adequate close and distance vision, as well as depth perception, to perform job duties safely and effectively.
