Key Responsibilities
- Oversee school activities related to case management, guidance, intake, logistics and ensure that funder guidelines are met.
- Oversee the intake and enrollment process with the support of fellow staff.
- Manage attendance policies, procedures and documentation.
- Coordinate all mentors, tutors and volunteers of UHS.
- Supervise the intake and disenrollment process for UHS.
- Coordinate and oversee academic performance activities such Portfolio Reviews and Graduation.
- Supervise the collection and maintenance of all statistical data, assessment data, eligibility documentation, guidance records and individual Service Strategies.
- Lead counseling team in Case Conferencing.
- Audit transcripts and develop individual education plans aimed at high school diploma attainment.
- Coordinate all testing and assessments with the support of the Special Education and Curriculum Coordinator.
- Coordinate and supervise the timely issuance of grade reports in accordance with the BPS academic calendar.
- Support the implementation and documentation of students’ social-emotional and academic accommodations in accordance with IDEA.
- Identify supportive services needs, provide related counseling as required, and make appropriate referrals.
- Conduct appropriate support workshops for the diverse consumer and collaterals of UHS.
- Provide post-graduate college and career counseling and other life skills development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s in education or counseling, with one to three years of experience working with urban youth required. Master’s in education or counseling preferred.
- Ability and willingness to attend all staff and district meetings.
- Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds
- Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently.
