Job Overview
The Digital Engineering Manager drives the day-to-day operations of the technical services team, including project responsibilities, service-related processes, and work execution. This role supports the team’s growth, development, and training to ensure technical capabilities meet customer demands and needs while ensuring all services meet the highest quality and technical standards. Reports to the Director of Digital Engineering and works closely with leadership to ensure technical capacity and capabilities support current and future needs.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team
- Support project execution, contribute directly to customer work, and serve as the first point of contact on technical matters for the technical services team
- Manage team capacity planning, work assignments and expectations, workload balancing, and operational accountability
- Hire, onboard, coach, and provide performance feedback to employees
- Review and approve direct reports' timesheets and expense reports for travel and material
- Review, coordinate, and approve PTO and other leaves of absence
- Oversee disciplinary action in coordination with HR & leadership
- Support overall company financial goals and KPIs
Required Qualifications and Skills
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline (or extensive relevant experience) and at least 7 years of progressive technical experience in engineering design and product realization
- 3 years MBD and MBE implementation experience
- Rotational exposure to different production domains within mechanical product realization, including but not limited to design, product definition, manufacturing, and quality
- Proven presentation or training creation and delivery ability
- Demonstrable ability to deliver documents with technical accuracy, precision, and creativity within a short period of time
- Being able to close tasks and keep activities moving forward to meet deadlines is a must
- Hands-on CAD design experience
- Fundamental functional GD&T authoring
- PDM/PLM experience as both a user and workflow approver
- Experience working with cross-disciplinary and cross-functional teams
- Trained in Leadership, Coaching, and Conflict Management
- Project management experience
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Advanced functional GD&T authoring
- Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and tools
- Lifecycle requirements and data traceability
- MBSE modeling
- PDM/PLM solution architecture or administration
- Management experience with direct reporting responsibilities
