Overview

For nearly 50 years, Action Duct Cleaning, a family-owned, multi-generational leader in commercial, industrial, and residential duct cleaning and indoor air quality, has served Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, hospitals, schools, restaurants, and other premier clients throughout California and nationally.


As we continue to grow and expand our operations and franchise system nationally, we're looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee every aspect of our business. This executive leadership position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, financial stability, employee development, customer satisfaction, overseeing our expanding franchise system, and driving continued company growth.

This role reports directly to the Owner and serves as the company's senior operational leader.


Compensation: $124,000 per year, plus benefits.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the company while executing the Owner's vision and long-term strategic goals.
  • Oversee Operations, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Customer Service, Safety, Administration, IT, and Facilities.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of our franchise system, ensuring franchise locations maintain our standards of quality, service, and operational excellence while supporting continued national expansion.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, mentor, and evaluate managers and employees while creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor company financial performance, budgets, profitability, cash flow, accounts receivable, and key performance indicators.
  • Review operational and financial reports and implement improvements that increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through high-quality service delivery and operational excellence.
  • Oversee business development, sales initiatives, marketing programs, and customer retention efforts.
  • Ensure company compliance with OSHA regulations, employment laws, contractor licensing requirements, insurance requirements, and corporate policies.
  • Develop and maintain company policies, procedures, training programs, and operational systems.
  • Work closely with department managers to solve problems, remove obstacles, and improve performance.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives and investigate operational issues to identify root causes and implement lasting solutions.
  • Plan for future growth by improving processes, expanding service offerings, supporting our national expansion strategy, developing leadership talent, and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Protect company assets while maintaining a positive workplace culture built on honesty, professionalism, and teamwork.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading multiple departments within a growing organization.
  • Five (5) years of experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, commercial services, facilities management, construction, restoration, duct cleaning, or another related field-service industry is required.
  • Strong financial and business management skills, including experience with budgets, Profit & Loss statements, cash flow, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, mentor, develop, and retain high-performing employees and management teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and business software.
  • Valid Driver's License.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of progressive leadership or management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience managing multiple departments and teams.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial management, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience overseeing franchise operations or multi-location businesses.
  • Experience implementing operational improvements and business growth strategies.
  • Lean Six Sigma, EOS, or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
