We are currently looking for a Sourcing Specialist to join our team in Elkhart, IN. The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing supplies and manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality production, competitive pricing, and consistent on-time delivery. The role combines analytical sourcing skills with hands-on manufacturing knowledge to support cost optimization, supplier performance, and product quality across the supply chain.

Job Specific Competencies
Supplier Identification & Evaluation with New Product Development
- Research, identify, and assess potential suppliers and manufacturing across domestic and international markets.
- Conduct detailed supplier audits, capability assessments, and risk and compliance evaluations.
- Analyze supplier capacity, manufacturing technologies, certifications, and compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain supplier databases.
- Establish and maintain new part number database within the
- Analyze market trends, pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for new and existing product categories.
- Lead RFQs/RFPs, cost analysis, and price negotiations to achieve competitive cost structures.
- Ensure contracts and agreements meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements.
- Prepare RFQs, RFPs, and purchase orders for essential components (motors, wiring harnesses, sensors, metal parts, plastics, electronic modules, batteries, etc.)
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to define product specifications, technical requirements, and logistical requirements.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing-related issues and support in improving production processes.
- Monitor production readiness, tooling development, and pilot runs at supplier facilities.
- Build strong partnerships with suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
- Track and report KPIs including lead time, quality metrics, delivery performance, and cost trends.
- Address non-conformance issues and implement corrective action plans.
- Identify supply-chain risks such as shortages, geopolitical issues, or transportation disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and sustainability requirements.
- Work closely with procurement, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to support new product introductions and ongoing production.
- Provide sourcing insights during product development to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Support supply chain risk-mitigation plans and alternative supplier strategies.
- Movement - This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and on the production floor. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Operate/Use - Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e. copier, printer, calculator)
- Ascend/Descend - Rarely ascends/descends stairs to reach archived files
- Communicate - This position frequently communicates with co-workers, managers and supervisors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Transport - This position frequently lifts or moves 25 pounds, occasionally moves up to 50 pounds for various needs.
- Work Environment - Relatively noisy at times and fast paced.
- Travel - Occasional travel to customers and vendors, with very minimal overnight stays, may be required.
Minimum Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or manufacturing within a technical or industrial environment.
- Experience in a variety of industries, preferred
- Experience with global suppliers preferred.
