Job Title: Value Stream Manager
Job DescriptionAs a Value Stream Manager, you will be responsible for designing and implementing lean processes and systems while adhering to the PDCA cycle. You will establish measurable PQDCC goals and objectives for all improvement activities, enhancing EH&S, Quality, and Lean Assessment results across the value stream business. In this role, you will mentor process owners and leaders to sustain results and ensure lean practices are promoted throughout the company and with external suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement lean processes and systems following the PDCA cycle.
- Define measurable PQDCC goals and objectives for improvement activities.
- Improve EH&S, Quality, and Lean Assessment results across the value stream business.
- Teach, coach, and mentor process owners and leaders to sustain results.
- Identify and evaluate resource requirements to support production.
- Communicate plans, actions, and results to the organization.
- Execute company strategy deployment in a fast-paced environment.
- Coordinate with Human Resources on staffing, placement, and performance improvement.
- Partner with Operations Site Leader on budget development and resource allocation.
- Liaise with upstream functional leaders to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of Operations Supervision/Management experience.
- Experience in machining and metal forming manufacturing.
- Proficiency in implementing lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience managing direct reports.
- Change management (EH&S, Quality & Lean).
- Experience in quantifying and justifying capital spend and return.
- Broad business knowledge linking customer needs with business processes.
- Proficiency in fundamental lean tools and concepts (VSM, 5S, Std Work, Continuous Flow, Transactional Lean, etc.).
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills (8 Step RCCM, 8D, DMAIC, etc.).
- Project management skills with the ability to support multiple projects.
- Strong coaching, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Automation experience with machine tending, vision inspection, and automated quality checks.
- Lean Six Sigma accreditations.
- Experience in operations planning and manufacturing engineering.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Engineering acumen preferred.
Work Environment
The role is based in a 365k sq ft facility focused on machining and metal forming operations. The facility also includes assembly and injection molding operations with 13 presses, a CMM lab, and a tooling & fixture department. Equipment includes DMG-Mori, Toyota, Okuma, Vertical Mills, and Lathes. The team comprises 2 production supervisors, machinists, molders, 2 manufacturing engineers, and 4 team leads. The plant produces water supply and disposal products, including pumps for agriculture and other applications. The work environment is dynamic, with a focus on growth driven by a three-year automation plan and a strong alignment with corporate operation goals. Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Delavan, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
