Job Title: Validation Engineer

Job Description

The Validation Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting aggressive power conversion validation programs by executing hardware validation testing in the EPIC Lab (Engine Paralleling and Integration Control). This role is highly hands-on and safety-critical, focused on ensuring high-quality data, disciplined execution, and adherence to lab safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Execute hardware validation tests for power conversion systems in a high-power lab environment.
• Own assigned validation test plans and schedules.
• Prepare and submit detailed lab test requests including power levels, voltage, instrumentation, and environmental needs.
• Configure test setups, request and verify instrumentation, and ensure calibration compliance.
• Perform test execution across assigned lab zones and shifts.
• Maintain accurate test documentation, logs, and data quality records.
• Support post-test data analysis and contribute to validation reports.
• Actively participate in and reinforce a safety-first lab culture, including peer-to-peer safety accountability.
• Work on-site daily, with no remote or hybrid option available.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on hardware test or validation experience (software-only testing does not qualify).
• Experience working in a physical lab environment with electrical or electromechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of lab safety practices and PPE requirements.
• Ability to follow structured test plans and execute repeatable validation procedures.
• Willingness to work early shift (6:00 AM start) and participate in split shift operations.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven validation environment.
• BS or MS degree in a relevant field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant hardware test or validation experience.
• Experience with power electronics, high voltage systems, or energy-dense environments.
• Familiarity with instrumentation, calibration tracking, and lab asset control.
• Experience contributing to test reports or post-test data analysis.
• Prior experience in a reputable engineering or validation lab.

Work Environment

The work will primarily take place in the EPIC Lab (Engine Paralleling and Integration Control), with air-conditioned building facilities. The role requires working on-site daily, starting at 6:00 AM, with potential for split shift operations. A hands-on environment is emphasized, supporting state-of-the-art technology and major growth initiatives.

This is a Contract position based out of Mossville, IL.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Mossville,IL.
