Staff Pharmacist

Job Description

This position offers pharmacists an opportunity to step away from the constant pace of traditional retail and join a growing pharmacy operation that prioritizes medication safety, clinical accuracy, and patient care. You will work in a collaborative environment alongside providers, pharmacy support staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use while contributing directly to improved patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with applicable regulations and clinical guidelines.
• Provide clear and thorough medication counseling to patients, explaining proper use, potential side effects, interactions, and adherence strategies.
• Collaborate with prescribers to resolve medication-related questions, clarify orders, and optimize therapeutic regimens.
• Support quality and compliance initiatives by following established policies, procedures, and best practices in medication management.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety and accuracy in all aspects of dispensing, verification, and documentation.
• Work closely with pharmacy support teams and fellow healthcare professionals to deliver efficient, patient-focused service.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and participating in operational initiatives.

Essential Skills

• Active pharmacist license in the state of Kentucky, in good standing.
• PharmD or RPh degree from an accredited program.
• At least 1 year of pharmacist experience is preferred however, new graduates are welcome.
• Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to medication safety and clinical accuracy.
• Ability to provide clear, empathetic, and effective patient counseling.
• Capability to collaborate with prescribers and healthcare teams to resolve medication-related issues.
• Solid understanding of pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards.
• Ability to work on-site and adapt to a mix of first and second shift schedules.

Work Environment

The role is based on-site within a growing pharmacy operation that offers a mix of first and second shift schedules, providing options beyond traditional retail hours. Pharmacists work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment alongside providers, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals, with strong operational support to maintain high standards of quality and safety. The organization invests in its people and processes, fostering a culture that values clinical decision making, continuous improvement, and professional growth. The setting emphasizes accuracy, patient safety, and efficient workflows, allowing pharmacists to focus on direct patient care and clinical responsibilities.

This is a Permanent position based out of Southgate, KY.

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $145000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
