Job Title: Utilization Review Nurse

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will review cases for medical necessity across all levels of care, ensuring that patients receive appropriate and necessary treatment.

Responsibilities

• Review medical cases for necessity at all levels of care.
• Utilize strong clinical and direct patient care background to ensure quality review.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate effective utilization management.
• Employ MCG criteria and electronic medical records (EMR) for case reviews.
• Work independently and within a team in a remote setting.

Essential Skills

• Acute care and inpatient care experience.
• Strong clinical and direct patient care background.
• Proficiency in computer skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Two years of strong clinical nursing experience, preferably as a floor nurse or in direct patient care.
• Experience in utilization management is a plus but not required as training will be provided.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not mandatory.
• Current, valid nursing license.

Work Environment

Work from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, in a fully remote setting. Be prepared to visit the nearest office occasionally if needed due to internet or IT issues. The role requires a self-directed work style within a supportive team environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rancho Cordova, CA.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
