OH Transmission Line Engineer
- We are seeking a skilled OH Transmission Line Engineer to join our team in supporting numerous major utilities.
- The role focuses on overhead design and structural engineering, encompassing everything from initial surveying and assessment to planning, permitting, research, and comprehensive design and engineering.
- You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed phases of projects independently, while collaborating with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
- This position offers the opportunity to provide expert consultation in your field, mentor junior staff, and engage in technical development of proposals and presentations.
Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced judgment and analysis techniques for design development, implementation, and technical analysis of systems.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of a project independently.
- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and procedures.
- Select proper procedures to self-check work for completeness and accuracy in technical reports and calculations.
- Resolve highly complex technical issues and continuously monitor project progress and performance.
- Recognize technical discrepancies in analytical results and make appropriate corrections.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior staff.
- Engage in technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients and regulatory agencies.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive OH Transmission Line Design Experience experience.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD.
- Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
- Understanding of QA/QC procedures and basic business practices related to engineering.
- Proficiency in additional engineering, computational, and modeling software (BlueBeam, FAD, LPile, etc.) preferred.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
