What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Designer position at Actalent?
This role is a 1-2 year contract position with the potential to become permanent, although there are no guarantees.
Responsibilities
- Design cutting tools, assembly tools, work holding fixtures, and functional gauges.
- Provide troubleshooting support for manufacturing and assembly areas.
- Implement ideas to improve setup times and reduce fixture costs.
- Ensure foolproof loading of parts.
- Design for producibility and cost efficiency.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of experience in tool design.
- Proficiency in CAD, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups.
- Experience with Creo preferred, but any 3D CAD is acceptable.
- Strong understanding of design for automation or machining.
This is a Contract position based out of Machesney Park, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
