Job Description
This role requires a skilled professional to interpret basic cardiac rhythms and common dysrhythmias while monitoring for mechanical malfunctions. The position also involves performing general clerical duties within a nursing unit, facilitating communication, transcribing physician orders, expediting interdepartmental services, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and monitor basic cardiac rhythms and common dysrhythmias.
- Identify and report mechanical malfunctions.
- Perform general clerical duties on the nursing unit.
- Facilitate communication and transcribe physician orders.
- Expedite interdepartmental services and maintain records.
- Keep the nurses' station neat and tidy, ensuring charts are clean and thinned.
- Ensure the desk area is free of clutter and wastebaskets are emptied at the end of the shift.
- Assist with the orientation of new ward clerk/monitor technicians.
- Observe telemetry monitor, catch and post ectopy, run strips, and measure intervals.
- Communicate changes and perform basic maintenance on the telemetry monitor.
- Run rhythm strips on all monitored patients per unit protocol.
- Maintain telemetry supplies, perform basic maintenance on telemetry unit and station.
- Prepare telemetry monitors for new patients, labeling each with the assigned patient's name and room number.
- Perform Defibrillator and Crash cart checks and other cart checks as needed, recording the results.
Essential Skills
- Experience in decontamination.
- Ability to use aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia course.
- 1 year of telemetry experience preferred.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Bernardino, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.67 - $26.67/hr.
