Job Title: DARC Systems Integration and Test

Job Description

Join a team dedicated to advancing national security by translating mission objectives into clear, traceable system and subsystem requirements. This role involves decomposing top-level requirements to enable integration across domains and systems-of-systems, while developing and maintaining end-to-end system architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Translate mission objectives and CONOPS into clear, traceable system and subsystem requirements with integration in mind.
  • Decompose top-level requirements into allocations that enable cross-domain and system-of-systems integration.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end system architectures, emphasizing data flows, timing, interfaces, and architecture and requirements trade studies.
  • Ensure requirements and architectural decisions explicitly support downstream integration and verification.
  • Define and manage system interfaces, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and interface requirements.
  • Drive integration strategies and plans early in the lifecycle to reduce technical and programmatic risk.
  • Identify and mitigate integration risks related to interfaces, dependencies, assumptions, and external systems.
  • Coordinate integration considerations across hardware, software, communications, networking, and data processing elements.
  • Serve as a technical integrator across internal teams, external partners, and government stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with subsystem leads, chief engineers, and program leadership to ensure architectural alignment.
  • Provide integration-focused technical inputs to SRR, PDR, and CDR, emphasizing readiness for build and test.
  • Support technical interchange meetings (TIMs) with government and industry partners.
  • Maintain technical documentation supporting requirements traceability, architectural decisions, and integration rationale.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM field.
  • Experience working on the left side of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements development and architecture definition.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems integration for complex or distributed defense, aerospace, or R&D programs.
  • Strong understanding of system-of-systems challenges, interface management, and dependency control.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DARPA or advanced DoD R&D programs.
  • Background in distributed architectures, sensors, data fusion, communications, or networked systems.
  • Familiarity with MBSE approaches and tools and requirements management tools.
  • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to brief complex architectures and integration concepts to senior leadership and government customers.

Work Environment

The DARC program offers mission-driven professionals the opportunity to work on high-impact, technically complex challenges that directly support national security, delivering real-world results at operational scale. Team members collaborate with elite engineers, leaders, and mission partners to solve problems without textbook answers, influence critical decisions, and see their work transition rapidly from concept to deployment.
