Responsibilities
- Assist the Survey Crew Chief in daily field operations.
- Set up and operate survey instruments including total stations, GPS, levels, and data collectors.
- Perform measurements for boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys.
- Maintain field equipment and ensure proper care and calibration.
- Record and organize field data accurately.
- Follow company safety standards and protocols on job sites.
Essential Skills
- 0–3 years of experience in land surveying or related field.
- Familiarity with survey equipment (Trimble) is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in various conditions and lift/carry equipment.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- CST level 1 or CST level 2 certification is a plus.
- Experience with survey techniques such as topography and construction staking.
- Knowledge of operating total stations and field survey equipment.
Work Environment
The workday begins at 6:30 am with a report to the office, followed by transportation to job sites in a company vehicle. The role involves working outdoors in various conditions and requires the ability to lift and carry equipment. Reports are submitted via iPhone/iPad. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
