Description:
The Survey Crew Chief functions as the lead staff member among a field survey crew. They undertake all of the outlined activities and functions of a survey, with the added responsibilities of coordination with engineering groups and overall responsibility for field work of their specific survey crew.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Supervise, direct and participate in daily tasks of survey crew.
• Compute right-of-way and property lines.
• Research property records.
• Verify land ownership for plans and plats according to public records.
• Collect and prepare data files for property plats and topographical maps.
• Accurately measures and records notes and sketches of work performed.
• In-office responsibilities include compilation and tabulation of field data.
• Coordination and communication with engineering groups pertaining to field requirements and data.
• Continues training in current survey technology and techniques.
• Responsible for Quality Assurance of all work performed by survey field crew.
Associates degree or higher preferred 5-6 years field experience basic CAD skills.
