Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Survey CAD Drafter to join our team. This role involves preparing high-quality survey drawings and base maps for commercial development and DOT infrastructure projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of land surveying principles, CAD standards, and experience collaborating with surveyors and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and edit survey plats, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, boundary surveys, and construction staking plans.
• Process field survey data (point files, field notes, and raw data) into Civil 3D to create accurate base maps and surfaces.
• Generate plan and profile sheets, cross-sections, and other deliverables for DOT and commercial projects.
• Ensure compliance with company CAD standards and DOT-specific drafting requirements.
• Collaborate with survey crews, project managers, and engineers to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.
• Perform quality control checks on drawings and data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Civil 3D
• 0-2 years of experience in survey drafting, preferably in commercial and DOT projects.
• Familiarity with survey data formats (CSV, TXT, FBK) and coordinate systems.
• Understanding of land surveying principles and terminology.
• Ability to interpret legal descriptions, plats, and engineering plans.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with DOT standards (e.g., state-specific CAD requirements).
• Knowledge of GIS software and data integration.
• Familiarity with Trimble Business Center or similar survey processing software.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
