Survey Cad Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Survey CAD Technician to process survey field data and convert it into accurate office drafting. This role involves developing 3D models of subsurface utilities, grading, and infrastructure, as well as performing clash detection to identify potential conflicts before construction begins.

Responsibilities

• Process survey field data and convert it into accurate office drafting.
• Develop 3D models of subsurface utilities, grading, and infrastructure.
• Build theoretical models from design plans and compare them against as-built field data.
• Perform clash detection to identify conflicts before construction issues occur.
• Review plans for constructability, ADA compliance, and utility conflicts.
• Prepare and maintain final as-built models and drawings.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to resolve discrepancies before work is executed in the field.

• Strong background in survey or civil design, preferred over pure architectural BIM.
• Experience translating field data to office drafting and coordinated models.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for survey drafting and construction plans.
• Familiarity with Trimble Business Center (TBC) for survey design and drafting.
• Experience with Revit for BIM modeling and 3D coordination.

• Proficiencies in Civil 3D (acceptable alternative to TBC in some cases).
• Familiarity with Carlson, Topcon, or Leica platforms depending on equipment.
• Ability to use Bluebeam for reviewing and redlining documents.
• Experience with drone data is preferred but not required.

This is an in-office role with potential hybrid flexibility, contingent upon the candidate's comfort with processes and standard operating rhythm. The office hosts approximately 30 team members, including surveyors, technicians, and administrative staff.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bridgewater, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $37.01 - $40.00/hr.
