The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency with GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned parts and assemblies, addressing emergent supplier quality challenges and mitigating risks.
- Own production components and assemblies from start to finish, enhancing manufacturing methods and identifying new suppliers.
- Conduct DFM reviews to ensure parts manufacturability before sourcing.
- Collaborate with procurement to evaluate suppliers for quality capability and takt time alignment.
- Author and communicate specifications that translate quality and manufacturing requirements to the supply base.
- Scope advanced depaneling, optical inspection, and X-ray inspection technologies to improve rate, quality, or efficiency.
- Drive root cause resolution for part issues and implement changes at suppliers or internally, pursuing re-sourcing when necessary.
- Create and manage Nonconformance tickets; coordinate rework, repair, or use-as-is dispositions with engineering.
- Lead containment activities on assigned parts by defining scope, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and driving to resolution.
- Proficiency in supplier quality and quality engineering.
- Experience with audits and AS9100 standards.
- Understanding of PCB and PCBA electronics-specific processes including fabrication, assembly, and standards.
- Fluency with IPC standards such as IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21, IPC-6012.
- Knowledge of first article and qualification processes for PCBs and PCBAs, including UL certification and material traceability.
- Experience with test methods for electronics and failure analysis techniques.
- Understanding of cleanliness and contamination control requirements.
- Familiarity with component qualification and counterfeit parts mitigation.
- Knowledge of ESD controls, handling requirements, and MSL compliance.
- Experience with electronics-specific quality systems and NADCAP Electronics accreditation.
- Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent.
