Job Title: Construction Superintendent – Commercial Projects

Job Description

This role oversees and coordinates all phases of construction on commercial projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and to the required quality standards. The Construction Superintendent serves as the on-site leader, guiding subcontractors and trades while maintaining clear communication with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day construction activities on commercial project sites from mobilization through project completion.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and site personnel to ensure work progresses according to plans and schedules.
• Monitor construction progress and proactively address issues that could impact timelines, quality, or safety.
• Interpret and implement construction plans, specifications, and project requirements on site.
• Ensure all work meets established quality standards and complies with applicable building codes and regulations.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices on site and support adherence to all safety procedures.
• Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on progress, site conditions, and potential risks.
• Assist in planning and sequencing work to maintain efficient workflow and minimize delays.
• Support the resolution of on-site conflicts or issues between trades and subcontractors.
• Maintain an organized and professional job site, including proper documentation and record keeping related to daily activities.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience supervising construction activities on commercial projects.
• Strong background as a superintendent or in a similar on-site construction leadership role.
• Ability to read, interpret, and implement construction drawings and specifications.
• Solid understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors on active job sites.
• Strong focus on site safety and adherence to safety procedures.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with trades, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Organizational and time management skills to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
• Problem-solving skills to address on-site challenges and unforeseen issues.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based on active commercial construction sites. The work environment involves coordinating and supervising field activities, moving between different areas of the site, and regularly observing ongoing construction. The role typically follows project-driven schedules, which may require flexibility in hours to meet deadlines and support critical phases of construction. The superintendent works closely with subcontractors, trades, and project stakeholders in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that emphasizes safety, quality, and efficient project delivery.

This is a Contract position based out of Hilliard, OH.

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $53.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hilliard,OH.
