Electrical Substation Engineer

Job Description:

• Responsible for providing project oversight and communication with clients on that specific project.
• Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations.
• Grow and manage relationships with local clients.
• Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution.
• Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
• Ensure quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner.
• Perform QA/QC for deliverables to clients across multiple offices.
• Manage all schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects.

Skills Needed:

• You should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
• Understanding project budgets and working well in teams is essential.
• Experience in the Power & Utilities industry.
• 4-7 years of experience in substation engineering and P&C (Protection & Control) or Physical systems.
• Familiarity with equipment like MCC (Motor Control Centers) an

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
