Job Description

We are seeking a Study Start Up Specialist who will play a crucial role in the start-up phase of clinical studies within the Internal Medicine department. This position focuses heavily on negotiation skills, particularly in contract and budget negotiations for assigned studies. The role involves working closely with a team that utilizes a Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) and Florence for post-award reconciliation on sponsor studies.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and manage the start-up phase of clinical studies, focusing on areas such as Nephrology, Infectious Disease, and Rheumatology.
• Participate in the expansion of the department into Allergy and Heart Failure studies.
• Conduct contract and budget negotiations for assigned studies to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
• Collaborate with team members to utilize CTMS and Florence effectively for study management.
• Maintain strong negotiation skills to achieve study objectives and timelines.
• Manage an average of two new study start-ups per month, adjusting to varying workloads as necessary.

Essential Skills

• Strong negotiation skills, especially in contract and budget negotiations.
• Experience in clinical research and study start-up processes.
• Familiarity with Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) and Florence.
• Bachelor's Degree minimum requirement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Pre/Post award experience is advantageous.
• Experience in supporting the establishment of new study groups, particularly in Allergy and Heart Failure.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role requiring two days on-site at the Medical Center. The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to contribute to the growth of the department in specialized areas of Internal Medicine.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
