Job Description
An advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary programs from initiation through closeout for fully automated custom automation machinery lines. The role requires a leader who can balance strategic oversight with execution rigor while partnering closely with engineering, operations, finance, and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end fully automated production lines/program execution from award through completion, ensuring alignment with contractual, technical, schedule, and financial objectives.
- Establish and maintain integrated program plans, coordinating activities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and support functions.
- Drive disciplined program execution through structured reviews, performance tracking, and corrective action planning.
- Develop and maintain automated program forecasts, including cost projections and Estimate-to-Complete activities, in collaboration with functional leads.
- Monitor and manage automation program performance metrics, identifying variances and implementing mitigation strategies as required.
- Support budgeting, resource planning, and long-range capacity planning efforts in partnership with leadership.
- Identify, assess, and actively manage program risks across technical, financial, schedule, and compliance dimensions.
- Ensure program activities adhere to applicable quality systems, internal procedures, and contractual requirements.
- Lead formal program reviews and customer or stakeholder engagements as required.
- Manage performance of external partners and subcontractors, ensuring delivery of required milestones, data, and technical outcomes.
- Serve as a primary point of coordination for supplier execution, issue resolution, and performance accountability.
- Support new program pursuits, including proposal development, evaluations, and transition from capture to execution.
- Provide input to program strategies, pricing considerations, and execution planning for new automated equipment opportunities.
- Mentor and develop program managers, project leads, and cross-functional contributors on custom automated equipment.
- Promote execution discipline, collaboration, and a compliance-first mindset across program teams.
- Lead through influence, clarity of expectations, and accountability.
- Support the integration of digital tools and data systems to improve program visibility, responsiveness, and audit readiness.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on program management processes and operational excellence.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a business, engineering, or quantitative discipline.
- 10 years of experience managing complex programs or portfolios.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in regulated or high-compliance environments.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret cost data, forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, resolve conflicts, and adapt to dynamic program conditions.
- Strong communication skills, including executive-level briefings and presentations.
- Proficiency with standard program and business tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience managing programs involving engineered systems or manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with formal quality management systems and structured process improvement initiatives.
- Experience mentoring program or project management professionals.
- Exposure to government-regulated contracts or compliance-driven environments.
- Ability to travel domestically as required (approximately 25–30%).
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required background clearance, if applicable.
- Skills in Solidworks, Machine design, Automation, automated equipment, automated machinery, GD&T, tight tolerances, Robotic cells, Mechanical design.

The work environment is within a small custom automation company with grand visions, supporting custom automated equipment for large Aerospace & Defense companies. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.
