Specimen Packaging Technician

The role involves sorting, racking, registering, labeling, and storing specimens. You will also handle data entry and other miscellaneous tasks delegated by leadership, particularly concerning the accession of frozen samples. This position requires working in cold environments, including freezers, and involves lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sort and rack specimens efficiently.
• Register and label specimens accurately.
• Store specimens according to guidelines.
• Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
• Execute miscellaneous tasks as delegated by leadership.
• Accession frozen samples as required.

• High school diploma required.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail is essential.
• Proficiency in data entry.
• Specimen processing and registration skills.

• Excellent typing skills.
• Experience in specimen collection is beneficial.

The work environment includes cold storage areas and freezers. Candidates are needed for all shifts: 1st and 2nd shifts are Tuesday through Saturday, and the 3rd shift is Monday through Friday. The dress code requires that nails do not protrude through latex gloves to maintain PPE effectiveness. Employees may wear t-shirts with non-offensive writing, covered by a lab coat in the lab. Long pants are mandatory, with no tears or exposed ankles allowed. Shoes must cover all skin, with no open toes or flip flops permitted. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lancaster, PA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr.
