Job Description
This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests and cloud monitoring for Azure-based applications within a research and development environment. You will work as an integral member of an Agile/Scrum team, collaborating closely with software developers to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable products. The position suits an experienced Azure developer with a strong background in software quality assurance who enjoys being an active team player and driving best practices in testing and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate proactively with developers and stakeholders to understand current application requirements, architecture, and infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain automated integration and end-to-end tests for microservices-based infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain automated UI and application end-to-end tests to validate user flows and system behavior.
- Design and maintain software QA documentation, including test cases, test plans, and traceability matrices.
- Define, document, and continuously improve testing strategies and best practices based on established processes and standards.
- Work closely with software engineering teams to define infrastructure and deployment requirements that support effective testing and monitoring.
- Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of cloud infrastructure and systems, with a focus on AWS environments.
- Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization to ensure efficient use of cloud resources.
- Use version control and collaboration tools to manage test code, track issues, and document QA activities.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to planning, estimation, and continuous improvement of QA processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with Azure applications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software QA developer.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent software QA training or certification.
- Strong hands-on experience with automated integration and end-to-end testing in microservices-based infrastructures.
- Proficiency in C# and .NET for test development and automation.
- Experience with Selenium or similar tools for automated UI and functional testing.
- Good working knowledge of Git for version control and collaborative development.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and conflict management skills to resolve technical and process-related issues.
- Experience with software testing methodologies and test development across different layers of the application stack.
- Familiarity with bug tracking and documentation tools to log, track, and report defects and test results.
- Experience using collaboration and knowledge management tools such as wiki or documentation platforms.

- Exposure to building or supporting operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
- Ability to contribute to the definition of infrastructure and deployment requirements in partnership with engineering teams.
- Strong interest in quality assurance and continuous improvement of testing processes and standards.

The role involves close daily interaction with software developers and other stakeholders, using modern development and QA practices. The technology stack includes Azure-based applications, microservices architectures, C#, .NET, Selenium, Git, and common bug tracking and documentation tools. You will also interact with cloud infrastructure and operational tooling, including monitoring and analysis of AWS environments.
