Job Description
The Software Test Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting software verification activities for regulated medical device products. This role ensures that embedded, application, and connected software systems meet defined requirements and comply with applicable regulatory standards. The engineer works closely with software developers, systems engineers, quality, and regulatory affairs to support product development throughout the full software lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing for implantable medical devices, supporting the Implantable Pulse Generator, The Wand, and the Programmer.
- Update and maintain test plans as projects progress.
- Ensure software systems meet defined requirements and comply with applicable regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, quality, and regulatory affairs throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Conduct verification for firmware and Android software for medical devices.
- Support the Intibia product line, an implantable neuromodulation device treating overactive bladder/urinary control.
- 5 years of experience in software testing for medical devices.
- Proficiency in manual testing and verification for firmware.
- Experience with GUI and Bluetooth technologies.
- Familiarity with software that operates on physical devices in a medical setting.
The work environment requires onsite presence 4 days a week initially, with potential flexibility as the project progresses. This role is on a critical path, and the engineer may need to work approximately 50 hours per week regularly.

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
