Job Description
This Software Development Engineer II role focuses on building and enhancing test infrastructure, automation, and operational tooling for complex network services. You will design and implement test frameworks, expand test coverage, improve operational dashboards, develop new software features, fix defects, and build CI/CD pipelines. This position offers the opportunity to deepen your software development expertise, work with modern cloud technologies, and contribute to highly visible, mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, enhance, and maintain automated test infrastructure to support scalable and reliable software validation.
- Expand and improve test frameworks and test coverage to ensure high-quality software releases.
- Build and maintain automation solutions that streamline development, testing, and operational workflows.
- Develop, enhance, and support operational dashboards that provide clear visibility into system health and performance.
- Design, implement, and maintain software features that support network services and related applications.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and fix software defects in a timely and systematic manner.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver robust, maintainable solutions.
- Write clear, maintainable, and well-documented code in at least one high-level programming language.
- Work independently to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and meet project deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
- Communicate progress, issues, and technical concepts effectively through both verbal and written channels.
- Operate within established processes and guidelines to support a secure and reliable software development environment.
Essential Skills
- 3–5 years of relevant software development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language such as Python, Rust, or Java.
- Strong scripting skills to support automation and tooling.
- Experience working with AWS services.
- Experience using AWS CDK for infrastructure as code or similar tooling.
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
- Ability to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure under pressure.

Work Environment
This role is based onsite at a technology facility in Sunnyvale (SJC10). You will work in a professional office and lab environment that supports hands-on development, testing, and operation of software systems. The team uses Linux-based systems, AWS services, and AWS CDK as core technologies, alongside CI/CD toolchains and automation frameworks. You can expect a collaborative setting with cross-functional partners, regular interaction with engineering peers, and access to modern development tools and infrastructure. Standard professional attire appropriate for an onsite technology office is expected, and the environment emphasizes safety, security, and adherence to established processes.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
