Site Design Civil Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Site Design Civil Engineer to join our Milwaukee-based team. This role will focus on the planning, design, and permitting of site and land development projects across commercial, residential, industrial, and municipal markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in site civil design, experience working with local municipalities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform site civil design for land development projects, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion control
- Prepare construction documents, calculations, reports, cost estimates, and technical specifications
- Design site layouts in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including Wisconsin and municipal standards
- Coordinate with internal teams (survey, geotechnical, transportation, structural) and external partners such as architects, developers, and municipalities
- Support permitting efforts and respond to agency review comments
- Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase support as needed
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop and modify plans and profiles
- Assist with project schedules, budgets, and quality control reviews
- Communicate clearly with clients and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 2 years of experience in site design or land development engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Working knowledge of grading, stormwater, and utility design
- Familiarity with municipal review and permitting processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain)
- Exposure to commercial, residential, and industrial development projects
- Prior experience coordinating with regulatory agencies and attending client or public meetings

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.85 - $28.85/hr.
