Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Site Design Civil Engineer to join our Milwaukee-based team. This role will focus on the planning, design, and permitting of site and land development projects across commercial, residential, industrial, and municipal markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in site civil design, experience working with local municipalities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform site civil design for land development projects, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion control
• Prepare construction documents, calculations, reports, cost estimates, and technical specifications
• Design site layouts in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including Wisconsin and municipal standards
• Coordinate with internal teams (survey, geotechnical, transportation, structural) and external partners such as architects, developers, and municipalities
• Support permitting efforts and respond to agency review comments
• Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase support as needed
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop and modify plans and profiles
• Assist with project schedules, budgets, and quality control reviews
• Communicate clearly with clients and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 2 years of experience in site design or land development engineering
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Working knowledge of grading, stormwater, and utility design
• Familiarity with municipal review and permitting processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain)
• Exposure to commercial, residential, and industrial development projects
• Prior experience coordinating with regulatory agencies and attending client or public meetings

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $28.85/hr.
